Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport is the main airport in the capital of Thailand. It is one of the biggest international airports in Southeast Asia, serving as a regional aviation hub. More than 60 million passengers pass through Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport annually. This airport is also a major cargo hub in Asia. They designed an airport free zone and linked it with the Eastern Economic Corridor. There are a total of three terminals: Terminals One and Two for international flights, and the third for domestic flights. The airport has two parallel runways, which can accommodate 64 flights per hour. The passenger terminal is one of the largest in the world and is capable of handling a total of 74 flights per hour.

Customs and Security
Passengers with nothing to declare mean they do not carry any items subject to duty and taxes or any prohibited or restricted goods upon arriving in Thailand. In such cases, they should proceed through the “Nothing to Declare” lane. The following items are exempt from duty:
- Personal belongings in reasonable quantities, with a total value not exceeding 20,000 baht, provided they are not prohibited or restricted items or food.
- No more than 200 cigarettes, 250 grams of tobacco, or a combination of tobacco products not exceeding 250 grams.
- No more than 1 liter of alcoholic beverages.
Excess quantities of cigarettes, tobacco, or alcohol must be disposed of in the designated box provided by Customs to avoid prosecution. The Customs Department aims to facilitate passengers as much as possible by employing risk management techniques to screen baggage. Below is information on screening and inspecting baggage at the Goods to Declare or Red channel.
Customs Procedure for Arriving Passengers at the Goods to Declare or Red Channel

- Customs Procedure: Passengers with goods to declare must present their passports along with invoices or receipts (if available). Customs officers at the “Goods to Declare” channel will examine the passengers’ passports and physically inspect their baggage. The procedure can be categorized as follows:
Passengers’ accompanying belongings not for commercial purposes and valued at no more than 200,000 baht
Procedure:
Customs officers assess a flat rate duty and taxes.
Passengers pay the duty and taxes using cash or debit/credit card.
Passengers receive payment receipts and reclaim their belongings.

Pet Policy
Your pet can arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport as checked baggage and must have the original health certificate and necessary documents. You need an import pet permit from the Department of Livestock Development before traveling. This permit is valid for up to 60 days, and the application can be downloaded from the department’s website. Thai Airways is a pet-friendly airline; they allow many breeds of dogs and cats to fly on their planes and allow disability service dogs to fly in the cabin.
